The Sweater Under $50 You NEED This Fall!

- SHOP THIS POST -

Seriously, you guys NEED this sweater, I am going to be living in it this fall and winter, it's a total staple versatile piece. The best part is that it's under $50 and comes in 3 other colours, so it's really a no brainer you need it in your closets ASAP!

SWEATER: BP (size XXS) | DENIM: Topshop (similar here) | PUMPS: Christian Louboutin (less expensive here) | WATCH: Michael Kors | RINGS: Baublebar (similar here and here) | SUNGLASSES: Burberry | HANDBAG: Celine (similar here)

This is sweater is serious perfection, it's cozy and has a looser fit which means that it's great for an effortless chic look while tucked into jeans, but it's also long enough to wear with leggings for a more casual look. Of course this neutral greige colour HAD to come home with me, but I also ended up ordering it in black AND I'm still thinking about adding the green to my collection (when I love something, I go hard!)

Also, can we speak about these Louboutins? EVERYONE will tell you that Louboutin's are notoriously uncomfortable. Having owned my fair share of red soled beauties I can confirm they are mostly right, EXCEPT for this pair. I swear to you guys I can wear them all day without pain, I can literally even run in them - put it this way, I dread to think about running in my So Kates. So if you're looking to splurge on a pair you'll get the most bang for your buck out, look no further.

Fall Must Have Trend: Olive & Suede!

- SHOP THIS POST -

Olive is definitely the colour that has made its way into every corner of my closet this fall. It literally works as another neutral and I can't get enough of it. Suede is another trend that is everywhere this fall and of course I had to find a way to make it work for me.

OLIVE BODYSUIT: Forever21 | SUEDE MIDI SKIRT: Hot Miami Styles (similar here and here) | GOLD BELT: ASOS | SHOES: Christian Louboutin So Kate (less expensive here) | SUNGLASSES: Burberry

Living in Canada it's almost that dreaded time of the year when the temperature goes from 20 to 0 degrees real quick! Fall is totally short lived here so outfits like this are perfect. The bodycon fit and peekaboo bra keeps things sexy, but ultimately I'm pretty covered up and can stay warm. I'm also a firm believer that everyone should own a sheer bodysuit, I have them in SO many colours from tons of different brands. They're kind of a closet staple and are a really versatile piece that make skirts and jeans more exciting.

This past weekend I went for dinner and then tried a new gelato place downtown, it was seriously the BEST gelato I've tasted (this summer I kind of became a self professed gelato connoisseur). These photos were taken near the Gelateria and I'm getting cravings just looking at them. My favourite flavours are Salted Caramel and Milk Chocolate. I guess you could say I'm basic!

Have a great week
xoxo

Casual Fall Weekend Staples

- SHOP THIS POST -

It's the season for plush scarfs and killer jackets and I'm not mad about it. It's a foolproof combo, I ALWAYS go to whether I'm dressing up or down. This weekend was all about keeping it casual and comfortable for a stroll in the park.

LEATHER JACKET: Zara (SUPER similar here AND under $50 here) | SWEATER: Zara Kids (similar here) | LEGGINGS: Lululemon (have 4 pairs of these!) | SHOES: Tory Burch Reva | SCARF: Souk (similar here, here and for a steal here) | SUNGLASSES: Burberry | HANDBAG: Celine (similar here)

For starters, YES, you read that right, my grey plush knotted sweater is from Zara KIDS and a steal at only $20.  I'm wearing a size 13-14 and one of the perks of being flat chested means that from time to time I find some great finds in the kids sections at stores. I have zero shame and this piece is great for wearing with leggings or skinny jeans.

Second, a great leather jacket is a MUST - this one is genuine leather and was a great investment this spring. I love the moto styling and fitted cut - it instantly elevates any look! Of course, it isn't sold anymore, but I listed two super similar and actually more affordable options for you.

Third, I am ALWAYS getting complimented on and asked about this scarf when I wear it out and about. I LOVE pashminas, they add a pop of colour and again inject some chic into a casual outfit. This one was a gift from my sister who picked it up from a Souk in Oman on her travels, however I did a TON of looking around to find some similar beautiful options for you.

The Prettiest Lace Top + Designer Dupe

- SHOP THIS POST -

This ultra-feminine lace top had me at hello! I mean the ruffled hem, the high neck cut and detail is to die for. The best part is that this gem is under $45 and is a total designer dupe (ahem, Self Portrait $500 blouses, I'm looking at you).

LACE TOP: Chicwish | DENIM: Hollister (size 3) | SHOES: Valentino Rockstuds (similar here and even cheaper here) | WATCH: Michael Kors Rose Gold 'Blair' | HAND CHAIN: Baublebar (similar here)

Lace is one of my favorite trends to wear in any season, in the spring I opt for blush tones, and usually black in the fall and winter, but this grey is the perfect all-year-round piece! I also can't wait to style this piece with more masculine pieces like a leather jacket or leather leggings to add some edge.

Chicwish is definitely one of my favorite websites for finding affordable, unique pieces that look like they should cost WAY more than they actually do!

What are your favorite year round trends?

The Beginning of Sweater Weather

- SHOP THIS POST -

I have a huge thing for baggy sweaters (bonus points if it's off the shoulder) paired with fitted skinny jeans and booties/heels... it's kinda my Fall Uniform, you'll see!

SWEATER: Chicwish (similar here) | DENIM: Rag & Bone (size 25) | BOOTS: Expression (similar here and here) | SUNGLASSES: Burberry | HANDBAG: Celine (similar here)

This oversized sweater is seriously one of the most comfortable I own! I love that it can be worn off the shoulder or regularly AND despite the open knit, it's actually pretty heavy duty and warmer than you'd expect for the early fall weather. I paired it with some white denim (another fave) for a clean neutral look.  I wore this outfit for Canadian Thanksgiving dinner and it was PERFECT to hide the food baby after all that Apple Pie!

Ps. I TOTALLY learned my lesson NEVER to shoot in midday sun again, please bear with this newbie blogger, it's a totally different ball game than YouTube video settings!

What are some of your fall staple closet items??

Transitioning Bardot Tops for Fall

- SHOP THIS POST -

Bardot tops, cold shoulder tops... whatever they're called I'm MAJORLY obsessed with the off the shoulder trend and I'm not quite ready to give them up yet for fall! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE fall fashion, but there's something about a peekaboo shoulder that makes me weak!

OFF SHOULDER TOP: Windsor | JEANS: Hollister (Medium Wash) | BOOTS: Expression (similar here and here) | SUNGLASSES: Burberry | HANDBAG: Celine (similar here)

While the weather has been cooperating, I've been making the most out of pairing my shoulder bearing faves with classic denim and booties to transition me into fall.

However, I get it, this blush pink version may not be your idea of fall, so in the 'Shop This Post' banner I've linked to some other affordable options (that I just purchased myself) that may be slightly more appropriate in colour and have sleeves!

Do you guys have any trends that you're not quite ready to say goodbye to yet? Let me know what they are in the comments!!
